Karen Piddington is a London-Brighton based multidisciplinary artist and early stage PhD student at University of the Arts London. In 2008, the topic of interspecies relationships; ‘becoming-animal’ and animality emerged as a key focus in her practice. She went on to complete a BA (Hons) at Central Saint Martins (2:1) and a Masters at Chelsea College of Art (distinction), in 2017. Karen works with film, sound, video performance, sculpture and drawing to blur the human-nonhuman boundary; and to reimagine an interspecies co-existence, and considers what new multispecies kinships might be possible. She seeks to create new and unfamiliar spaces for seeing and thinking about nonhumans.
